The initial consultation is for individuals who have never been seen by Erin Hessel at the Berkley Center for Women's Health and involves a two-hour session that includes: an in-depth health history, formulation of a traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis, your first acupuncture treatment, an individualized herbal prescription and a treatment plan.  If you are unsure if the Berkley Center is the right fit for you, Erin is always available for a free 15-minute consultation.  Please email or call the center to set up your appointment.

Herbs

Chinese herbal medicine works synergistically with your acupuncture treatments and has been used as a safe and integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years. Herbal medicine has a direct impact on your metabolic system, your endocrine system, your immune system and other systems which may be hypo-functioning and contributing to a pathologic state. Herbal medicine can nourish, support, increase and enhance your organ systems; acupuncture can invigorate that which is stagnant and move that which is blocked.

Herbal medicine is a safe and effective means to heal the body and is pivotal in treating gynecological conditions. Our prescriptions are written specifically for your individual health needs and filled at reputable and local pharmacies.  Your individualized herbal prescription will be shipped right to your doorstep within a few days. The prescription for your individualized herbal formula will be written on the day of your visit and included in the fee of your initial consultation or follow-up, although the price of the herbs themselves is not included.

Phone Consultations

We offer in-depth phone consultations to women who can benefit from Chinese Herbal Medicine, but live too far away to come in for an in-person consult at our center. Over the phone, we will spend about an hour at your initial consultation discussing your present and past health concerns, and overall state of health. In addition to the consultation, you will be asked to send a digital photo of your tongue to our office email address, if possible, for further confirmation of diagnosis. As your body responds to the herbal formula, we will check in regularly to adjust the prescription as needed. The change in symptoms and tongue will be the main reference used over the course of your treatment to evaluate progress. All herbal prescriptions will be written specifically for you, and filled by the pharmacy I work with here in the city. They will prepare your formula, and drop-ship it to your door - wherever in the world that may be. We have been working with women around the country in this capacity, with astonishing results.

Don't let distance be the reason for not seeking treatment for your concerns. The Gynecology Center has, as part of its staff a dynamic Registered Dietician and Holistic Health Specialist, Tibha Patel. Tibha has more than 20 years experience in women’s health issues.
